Computer Repairers should only reinstall original software. They should not condone or install pirate software so if your machine needs a format they will require your original software Diskest/CD Roms/Recovery Disk.
If possible, remove all your personal data (bank passwords, sensative files etc) from your computer before you take it to the PC repairer. Do this for security reasons or incase they need to format your computer.
