The Best Deals on Computer parts, Software etc. Recommended Computer Shops. Click Here!
Computers and computer parts can be expensive and you need to think carefully about where you buy yours.
There are many different sizes, makes and quality PCs on the market and one that is right for you is out there.
The first thing you need to decide is what you want to do with your new computer.
For example a games computer is completely different to a home office computer.
We have seen many people with under powered computers trying to do complicated tasks and others
who just want to play solitaire with computers that could run a major business.
It is very wise to go for the best machine your finances will allow, as most of the newer software
programs will not run on older machines.
TIP:-
If you have picked your software and
are happy with the speed and performance of your current machine, there is no need to upgrade.
It is a costly exercise to say you have the fastest computer on the block.
We look at three different ways of
purchasing and each could be right for you.
Your Local Dealer.
When buying a computer 'after-sales service' is most important. The stories we have heard
about not wanting to know about the product after it has been sold, are many. When you buy locally you have the piece
of mind that if something should go wrong it is only a quick skip up the road to your dealer and you
should have your machine back within a very short period of time. You also have the added bonus of 'getting to know' your
computer dealer and the little things that you learn from him may save you money. Your local dealer works with
computers and parts all day everyday, and know the good brands from the not so good. We at 'CoastPC.info'
highly recommend using one of the local computer traders for your computer needs.
For the people that are familiar with their machines and are not afraid to have a go at upgrading, the 'computer markets' are
an ideal place to buy parts, software, systems and anything else you may need. The computer markets are usually
cheaper, simply because there are many dealers bidding for your dollar by reducing prices. You often see
one stall with parts at a cheaper price and its not long before the other stalls are matching that price.
This is good for us the consumer as we get our computer peripherals at rock bottom prices. The only downside is if have to return a part for replacement, it means another trip
Brisbane. The markets sell both new and secondhand computers and parts so be sure you know exactly what you're buying
and understand the risk if you buy secondhand parts. The stall holders usually give you a thirty day warranty
with secondhand components which, so if you are a little short of cash this is a good option.
TIP:-
When buying from the markets always insist on a receipt with the 'dealers business name' on it and
always be clear on the length of the warranty and where the part can be returned. Over the years
we have bought many parts, peripherals, and systems from the computer markets and have saved a lot of money.
If your budget is tight, you may think of looking for a second hand system. There are some
very cheap, up to date machines advertised in the local paper or at computer shops.
Most important thing to consider when buying second hand, there is usually no warranty and is sold
'as is where is'. If you choose this option it is important to be able to use the computer and see all the parts and extras working
before you consider buying. Insist on being able to run the software, use the printer, use the scanner,
etc. Turn the machine on and off a few times to see how well it boots up and always insist on the original software that goes
with the machine. Realize the risk involved with second hand but also understand you can save a lot of money by taking this option.
